Applicable not only in the case of a graphic designer but anybody who has ever worked in the creative side of operations would know how exhausting, at times, it can get to do one’s job- to create. It is true that as a designer, writer, painter, or artist of sorts, you are paid for your creativity. However, all said and done, creativity is not after all a tap that can flow anytime it is turned on.
How often do you feel drained at the end (or even just the beginning) of the day, like you have already saturated all of your brains’ creativity and are rather ready to call it a day? We are sure quite often. However, unfortunately, in most cases than not, calling it a day is not really an option.
Hence, if today is that one day which looks gloomy and when you are rather frustrated with your creativity, designs, and ideas (or a lack thereof), say no more! Here are some inspiring quotes from the wise that can, perhaps, channel your inner creativity!
“It’s through mistakes that you actually can grow. You have to get bad in order to get good.”Paula Scher

Don Draper could not have put it forth in a better manner; keep it simple, but let not be simplicity your reason your sub-standard designs. Apple kept it simple, but did they compromise on impact?
“A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”Antoine de Saint

“Don’t worry about people stealing your ideas, worry about the day they stop.”Jeffrey Zeldman
Well, this goes without saying. There is a reason why the Gucci designs and Louis Vuitton designs have fake first copies circulation around the world!
“Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated.”Paul Rand
For those days when you are not sure enough of your designs, this one should get you through it all. Design can be anything and everything- simple, artistic, or even all of it at once. But it is this intrinsic nature of design and the versatility that opens up all the horizons for you!

“Thinking about design is hard, but not thinking about it can be disastrous.”Ralph Caplan
A designer’s block or a creativity block is a real thing. You can always grant yourself the privilege of taking a day off of things in order to get your head straight and clearing out your headspace. “Standards are like sex; one mistake, and you’re stuck supporting it forever!”Mark Pilgrim

Here’s another one from Steve Jobs and we purposely put it in the end as our attempt to immortalize the ultimate design mogul. It was only after Jobs entered Apple that Apple’s products underwent some serious, revolutionary designs. Hence, there could never be anyone better to speak about design inspiration. As also said by Paula Scher, we emphasize again, there are no mistakes in design and if there are, there should ever be any shame in owning it up!
